Good evening, Heart of Texas Feral Friends!

HERE ARE SOME OF OUR UPCOMING EVENTS!

WINTER FERAL CAT FORUM
Thursday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. at the Waco Humane Society!
This 45-minute free event is open to the public and we encourage anyone feeding outside cats to attend.
The Waco Humane Society is located at 2032 Circle Dr., near I-35 & Valley Mills (behind Rudy's BBQ).
If you, or anyone you know, is feeding outside cats in McLennan or surrounding counties, please forward this email message to them. We have also attached a flyer that can be posted anywhere (with permission)!

VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION & TRAP TRAINING WORKSHOP
NEXT THURSDAY, DEC. 11 at 6 p.m. at the RB Hoover Library, 1428 Wooded Acres (across from HEB).
This complimentary 45-minute training includes details about volunteer opportunities, the important role of TNR in our community, a trap demonstration, tips on trapping, personal safety issues while feeding/trapping, recommended feeding amounts for caregivers, feral cat health issues, and how to safely release the cat after spay/neuter. This is a must for any new trapper! Trap Team Members are welcome to attend as a refresher course, or to be a Trap Mentor as our wonderful "Rookies" get going! Just as a reminder, we have volunteer opportunities that do not involve being around the cats at all, so there is a volunteer opportunity for everyone!

TRAP TEAM MEMBERS! We have had several requests for help with trapping at new large colonies. As long as the weather stays mild, we will continue to trap. Details to follow about the next trap. If you want to be on our TRAP TEAM, be sure to attend out Volunteer Orientation & Trap Training Workshop!

WINTER SHELTER FOR FERAL CATS: We held a Winter Shelter Workshop on Nov. 22 to help local caregivers prepare their feral cats for the cold weather. Check out some pictures from this event at our website, www.HOTFeralFriends.com. Several people volunteered time and materials to make shelters for senior citizen caregivers, large-colony caregivers, or other special caregivers who needed help. If you are interested in another Winter Shelter Workshop, please let us know! Design tips and instructions can be found at the CAREGIVER'S CORNER at our website.

CAREGIVER MIXER: Current Caregivers: Please let us know if you are interested in a "By Invitation Only" December Caregiver Mixer! Notes from the last mixer are posted at our website, so be sure to visit our CAREGIVER'S CORNER webpage.

CAREGIVERS NEEDED! Temporary Caregivers are needed to help with feeding over the Christmas/Winter Holidays. If you are going to be in town, please consider helping a Caregiver at one of our many TNR colonies. It is very important that the cats stay on a routine schedule. Please consider this act of kindness. Our Caregivers will be most thankful to you. If you are not a current Caregiver, please plan on attending the Volunteer Orientation to participate.

ATTENTION COLLEGE STUDENTS: We have several Baylor students interested in starting an on-campus TNR group. We have support and tips from other Texas universities to get us going, so call us for the next meeting time!

A HOLIDAY GIFT OF KINDNESS! Just a reminder that as the Holidays approach, please consider a gift to the Animal Birth Control Clinic's TNR Program. You can donate to the "General TNR Fund" to help caregivers who need financial assistance or fund matching, or designate a specific colony! Please mail your donation to: "ABC Clinic's TNR Program, 1531 Wooded Acres, Waco, TX 76710" with your check made payable to "ABC Clinic's TNR Program." (We're working on a Pay Pal account for our website!)

**SPRING FUNDRAISER** We are working out the details for a powerful and unique Spring Fundraiser! More details to follow!!!

Thank you as always for your generous support of the Animal Birth Control Clinic's Trap-Neuter-Return Program.

Sincerely,
Heart of Texas Feral Friends
